CONTRACEPTION
Which contraception method is best suited for you?
Whether it’s the insertion of intrauterine devices (hormonal IUD, copper IUD, Genefix) or advice on other contraceptive methods, we inform you about the different options and offer you the best individual solution.
There are many different types of contraception available for women and men to prevent unintended pregnancy. Here are some of the most common methods:
Hormonal contraceptives: These methods include the pill, the contraceptive implant, contraceptive patches, contraceptive rings, and the depo-shot. They contain hormones that prevent ovulation and therefore prevent pregnancy.
Barrier methods: Barrier methods include condoms (for men and women), diaphragms, and cervical caps. They work by preventing semen from entering the uterus.
Intrauterine devices (IUDs): These are small devices that are inserted into the uterus and left in place to prevent pregnancy. There are both hormonal and non-hormonal IUDs.
Natural methods: Natural methods of contraception involve tracking the menstrual cycle to identify fertile days. However, these methods require a high level of discipline and are less reliable than other methods.
Sterilization: Sterilization is a permanent procedure that can be performed on both men (vasectomy) and women (tubal ligation) to prevent pregnancy.
Emergency contraception: Emergency contraception (also known as the “morning-after pill”) is a method that is taken after unprotected intercourse to prevent pregnancy.
It is important to discuss the different types of contraception with your healthcare provider to determine which method is best suited for your individual needs and lifestyle.
